"Silence, Be Still" is one of my most recent works and was penned in March 2005.

Silence, Be Still

by David W. McDaniel

When all that I know has been taken,

And it seems hope is now lost...

Silence, be still.

When my ship has come in fully laden,

But the lifeboat all tattered and tossed...

Silence, be still.

When those I love deeply have vanished,

Gone where, I don't know...

Silence, be still.

When all that I am has been stolen,

My very being has been purged from the soul...

Silence, be still.

Through this journey of life's hills & valleys,

As we face lessons in turn...

Silence, be still.

Only God holds the answers we long for,

Yet inside deeply we yearn...

Silence, be still.

My Vision
By David W. McDaniel

What beauty is beyond compare;
I turn to see her standing there

Daylight glistening through her sundress;
She is a vision of true loveliness

I turn to her once more to see;
This beauty standing next to me

It simply takes my breath away;
Her beauty has no compare, dare say

My voice it quivers;
I cannnot speak

Her beauty overwhelms;
I grow quite weak

What beauty is beyond compare;
I turn to watch her standing there

And as she slowly walks away;
My heart it skips, for it fell this day

"My Vision" was written not long after my wife, Felicia, and I first began dating. Never before have I met such a wonderful person and never again shall I find such love - I miss you Felicia...I love you more.
